March 1st is recognized as World Seagrass Day (World Seagrass Day), dedicated to raising awareness about seagrass meadows' importance and restoration efforts. Following the legal proceedings of the EMSEA General Assembly 2024, we have arranged a special session featuring three distinguished speakers actively involved in seagrass conservation and education. They will shed light on various aspects of seagrass protection, restoration, and awareness-raising initiatives.
You'll have the opportunity to learn how seagrass protection is approached in research during an overview of the SeaStore project, a pilot initiative focused on restoring seagrass meadows along the German Baltic coast.
Next, you'll see how the importance of seagrass ecosystems is conveyed to school students through the European Blue Schools' Blue Project Posidonia in the class.
Finally, a presentation on the Posidonia Escape Experience, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness among tourists about seagrass along the Mediterranean coast of Spain.
Visit the event page to learn more about our speakers and their presentations.
Don't miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge and appreciation for seagrass ecosystems and join us on March 8th!
